The Fashion Show 2024
Pupils from all year groups came together to put on a spectactular Fashion show.
In 2023, Yeva and Klaudia (Sixth Form) decided to organise Ibstock’s first charity fashion show to raise money for The Yungmash Collective. Now in its second year, the Fashion Show is one of the largest pupil-led initiatives of the year, promoting creativity, teamwork and imagination.
The theme of this year's show was 'tributes to designers who have shaped the fashion industry into what it is today'. Pupils researched designers who inspired them and put their take on the celebrated designs of these fashion icons.
The Textiles Club kicked off the show with some unique pieces made from upcycled denim, giving old garments a new lease of life. Our GCSE and Lower Sixth Form Art pupils then explored the theme of Surrealism and Sensation with amazing inventive, abstract garments.
Highlights of the evening included special performances by singer-songwriter KATYA and our very own talented Sixth Form pupil, Esme.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to The YungMash Collective, a free, peer-to-peer, global mentoring and empowering community for young adults based on cutting-edge neuroscience founded by Masha Shishkina (Head Girl 2017 – 2018) who sadly passed away in March 2022 after more than two years of treatment for cancer. Her legacy very much still lives on today and you can learn more about The YungMash Collective here.
Thank you to all pupils and staff who made this year's Fashion Show a roaring success!
