We are incredibly proud of our Senior 11 pupils, who have achieved an excellent set of GCSE results. Many of them will be continuing their academic journeys at Ibstock’s Sixth Form this September, and we are delighted to celebrate their success.
Sophie achieved a clean sweep of grade 9s and will be taking Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science for her A-Levels. She has been at Ibstock since Kindergarten and is thrilled to be starting Sixth Form this September.
Sammy, an Esports Scholar, achieved an outstanding seven grade 9s. He will be taking Physics, Chemistry and Maths for his A-Levels. His brother Matthew also achieved exceptional results in his A-Levels last week, securing four A*s.
Gaby achieved straight 9s and, having been at Ibstock since Kindergarten, is excited to continue her journey into Sixth Form. She will be taking Biology, Chemistry and Maths next year. She has loved her time at Ibstock and can’t wait to begin this next chapter in September.
Michael excelled with straight 9s and will be taking Maths, further Maths, Biology and Chemistry for his A-Levels next year. He is particularly looking forward to the greater independence and freedom that Sixth Form will bring.
Claudia achieved an excellent set of straight 8s and 9s and will be taking English, History and Spanish for her A-Levels.
Congratulations to all our pupils on their fantastic achievements – we are so proud of each of you. Enjoy your well-deserved celebrations!
Headmaster Christopher Wolsey said:
"The whole Ibstock community can be enormously proud of the achievements of the pupils who today collect their IGCSE results. Last year’s cohort beat the school record in terms of the percentage of entries attracting the highest grades, and this year’s cohort have done precisely the same. It is wonderful to see the huge amount of effort which they have given over to their studies over the last two years being rewarded in this way and they’ll make for a wonderful new Lower Sixth Form when we reassemble for the start of term in a fortnight’s time.
Given last week’s superb – and record-breaking A-Level results – I think we can say with certainty that August 2026 has been a terrific month for our pupils. We go into academic year 2026-27 brimming with optimism. Again, warmest congratulations, not just to our pupils, but to the whole of the community for what has been achieved."
