Prep 6 Residential Trip 2026
Having received rapturous acclaim for their amazing production of 'Wizard of Oz Jr.', Prep 6 were in need of a restorative and energising retreat.
Laden with sleeping bags, cameras and a healthy sense of adventure, they set off for the Jurassic Coast.
After a smooth journey, the pupils arrived at what would be their home for the next 3 days. Excitement was high as pupils split into their activity groups and immediately embraced everything the camp had to offer.
They tackled the trapeze, navigated orienteering challenges, and rounded off a fantastic first day with the ever-popular game of 'balloon splat'.
Wednesday arrived, shrouded in fog, but the damp sea air did little to dampen spirits as the pupils had another action packed day full of climbing, abseiling, archery and a geographical treasure hunt!
Waking to a chant of "football's coming home", pupils made their way to the 2012 Olympic sailing venue for one final challenge: raft building. Working in teams, pupils lashed together scaffolding poles, barrels and ropes to construct their own seaworthy vessels before launching them into the harbour. Their engineering skills were put to the test, and all four rafts returned safely to shore—still afloat! To round off a wonderful residential, the sun finally broke through the clouds as the whole year gathered around the campfire to enjoy marshmallows, songs and plenty of laughter.
It was a busy but brilliant residential and lots of fun for the pupils who thoroughly deserve it after such an impressive effort this term and year.
