Sixth Form Trip to Brussels
Our Sixth Form pupils visited the bustling city of Brussels for a weekend of culture, history and gastronomy.
The group enjoyed a guided tour of the Magritte museum, which houses many artworks of the most famous Belgian surrealist painter, and a visit to the Parlamentarium (a museum dedicated to the EU and European Parliament) which included an insightful talk about the European Commission.
An afternoon was spent walking around the magnificent Grand Place with its unique neo-gothic and baroque buildings (some of which are gilded with gold leaf) and exploring the picturesque streets of boutiques, chocolateries, cafés and restaurants around the îlot sacré (sacred islet).
